Black Sheep Gathering — 2008
Introduction to the Show Catalog

Welcome to the 2008 Black Sheep Gathering! We look forward to your company at the Lane County fairgrounds in Eugene, Oregon this coming June 20-22 Whether your passion leads you to workshops and classes, the barns for sheep and goat shows, the trade show and fiber arts exhibits, the Wheeler Pavilion to gaze at hundreds of gorgeous fleeces—just plan to visit! Find your way to a spinning circle; listen and learn during several days of free talks and demonstrations; enroll in one of the many workshops taught by gifted and renowned instructors or watch the pace of the Sheep-to-Shawl competition on Friday. On Saturday night join us for the annual Potluck and be part of the enthusiastic crowd enjoying the Spinner’s Lead.
Workshops will be located at O’Hara School, adjacent to the fairgrounds across Amazon Creek, an easy walk from the back parking lot. Registration opens on March 15 and closes on June 8. If there are spaces still available in classes, new registrations will be taken during the Black Sheep Gathering. However, registering early gives you a better chance of getting into the classes you want. For more information on the registration process see the section on workshops.
Contact Lane County Fairgrounds regarding overnight camping reservations: see  travel and lodging. If you need lodging in Eugene, check the list of motels on the  travel and lodging page. For more visitor information, call the Convention and Visitors Association of Lane County (CVALCO) at 541-484-5307 or 800-547-5445. We suggest making reservations soon; the US Olympic Track and Field Trials are also being held in Eugene this June.
Daily schedules are available at the information booth. As always, admission and parking at the Gathering are free. Bring your families and friends, and take part in one of the most unique events in the country celebrating natural colored animals and their fiber.
The Black Sheep Gathering is an all-volunteer organization that welcomes your suggestions, participation and assistance. For information on specific events, to volunteer or to offer suggestions, please refer to the list of committee workers on the next page.
